The minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyat Rufai, announced yesterday that scholars apprehended from now on cheating during written tests will face a five year jail period or N200,000 fine or both.
This conclusion was come to during the government Executive assembly weekly meeting that held in Abuja yesterday. The new regulation states in part...
“(Any nominee apprehended betraying) shall not take or be allowed to take or extend the written test; in supplement, he shall be prohibited from taking any written test held or undertook by or on behalf of the assembly for a period of two years
directly following upon such contraventions. If a candidate aforesaid has currently taken any papers at the written test, his result therefrom will be cancelled. In addition, the nominee may be prosecuted and if found at fault, shall be liable on conviction to a fine of N200, 000 or imprisonment for a period of five years or to both such fine and imprisonment.”
