Three men have supposedly gang-raped a 15-year vintage girl at the Ikorodu locality of Lagos, as the policeman are alleged to be threatening the victim’s parents to resolve the matter out of court.
The state government had previous accused the police for frustrating rape situations by threatening victims and their families to withdraw their situations. Two of the men have been arraigned at one of the freshly established Family Courts in Ikeja for allegedly raping the girl.
The supposes are being tried by the Lagos State Office of the Public protector, OPD, while the third suppose is still at large. It was discovered that the casualty was lured to No 23, Fola Mustapha road, in Ajegunle area of Ikorodu by her classmate (name withheld), a 16-year vintage girl, on the pretext that she wanted to come back a text publication which she had previous scrounged from the casualty.
The victim was deceived by her friend who had currently organised with the three supposed rapists to have sex with her vigorously. The three suspects; Yusuf Mohammed, Rasheed Oyedepo and Tunde were alleged to have inflicted whole body wound on the young female (name withheld).
It was gathered that the raped girl’s ally on purpose delayed her classmate for hours and enabled the heinous misdeed by putting on the generator set, on the pretext that she required to ascribe her phone.
According to the OPD , the casualty liked to take her depart in irritation when it was getting too late for the her to return home, but her ally told her to delay for a while before taking her to a new room where she was raped in turns by the gang.
While taking turns to rape the young female, the noise from the generator and the melodies they were playing prevented the people out-of-doors from hearing the shouting and wailing of the girl. On getting dwelling in a awful status, the girl’s mother took her to a private clinic for medical vigilance.
She was taken to Ikorodu General clinic for correct medical remedy, where it was discovered that her womb had been tampered with at the private clinic.
The victim was in a critical condition as she was accepted in the clinic for three days while undergoing body-fluid transfusion. It was gathered that the policemanman had gone to the girl’s family intimidating the mother for taking the case to OPD, after which they transferred the supposes to SCID, Panti. It would be recalled that the government has established a clinic where DNA checks will be undertook on rape victims and supposed rapists to enhance prosecution of the situations.
