The players, their handlers and key constituents of the Nigerian Supporters’ Club, according to the leader, will also be respected with nationwide respects throughout the next accolade ceremony.
Jonathan announced the rewards at a reception he held in honour of the players at the leaderial Villa, Abuja.
The leader broadcast a N3m cash gift to the team’s Head adviser; the aide advisers get N2.5m each; the team medical practitioner, physiotherapist and team secretary get N500,000 each while the group technical agent, group coordinator, medical agents and the curator will get N300,000 each.
Jonathan said with the presents, he was holding his earlier pledge to the team when he charged them to proceed and conquer the world.
Describing the money presents as token, the President boosted state authorities and members of the organised private part to join the Federal Government in appreciating players, saying no allowance of pay could be ample for the juvenile Nigerians.
“The team, the handlers, the advisers and the officials encompassing some key members of the supporters association and the Nigerian Football Federation will all be rewarded when we give nationwide honours,” he said.
The leader said he was pleased to host and respect the players who he said by their spectacular performance had brought dignity and respect to Nigeria and Africa.
He said the players won fairly and convincingly, supplementing that the victory is for the whole of Africa
